What is already set up
You told us your trade when you signed up, so your workspace came with templates, a parts and services list, quote structure and sensible defaults — all yours to change.
You picked your trade when you signed up, so Lyteworkgo did not hand you an empty workspace. It came with a starting set of templates and lists written for that trade, so you can send your first quote without building everything first.
You are asked once, on the sign-up form. To change your trade afterwards, open Settings → Company Settings and pick a different one under Trade.
Requires owner or admin access. Office staff, Field techs and Billing do not see Company Settings. Their Settings opens only their own account.
Changing it records your new answer and does nothing else: we will not drop a second trade’s templates into a workspace you have already started using, and we will not take away anything you already have.
What you got
- Request templates — the usual things customers call about, so a new request is a few clicks instead of a blank form.
- Job templates — a visit’s checklist, the tools to load, and the materials usually used.
- A parts and services list — the catalog, with categories already grouped the way your trade groups them.
- Quote templates — the shape of a quote and its section headings.
- Defaults — quote terms, how long a quote stays open, your payment term, and scheduling settings like the promise window for new work, so new records start closer to how you work. See System settings.
- A website booking form — switched off, waiting for you to read it and turn it on. See Booking widgets.
Nothing has a price on it
Not one starter item names a price, a rate or a fee. Prices are yours: nobody else knows what your work is worth in your market, and a number we invented would be wrong in a way that costs you money on the first quote you send.
Add your prices in Catalog. From there they price the materials your technicians record on a job, and those carry through to the invoice. Quote amounts you type yourself — the starter quote templates give you the structure and the wording, never the numbers.
It is all yours to change
Everything you were given is an ordinary record. Rename it, rewrite it, or delete it — nothing is locked and nothing gets put back later. If you delete a starter template, it stays deleted.
You picked your trade once, when you signed up, and it is what we used to choose all this. Nothing re-runs later, so your edits stay yours — we will not come back and overwrite work you have done.
If a starter list looks wrong for your business
Change it. These are a starting point drawn from how the trade usually works, not a description of how you work. Most businesses rename a few templates in the first week, and that is what they are for.
