When a helper reports a visit done

The notification you get, what "ready to complete" means, and completing the job yourself.

A helper tells you they’ve finished by tapping Mark my visit done on their phone. That’s a report, not the end of the job: completing the job stays with you, so nothing is invoiced until someone who runs the business says the work is done.

Who is told. The person the job is assigned to (its lead), and everyone who can assign and reschedule the whole team's work: owners, admins, and Office staff unless Assign and reschedule other people's work is off for them. Field techs are told only about jobs they lead.

The notification

You get an in-app notification (the bell), linked to the job:

These come to the bell only, never by text or email. To stop them, turn off Visit reported done under Notifications in your Account settings.

“Ready to complete”

On the job page, the Crew card shows Reported done by Maria and the time under each person who has reported.

When everyone on the job has reported, the job is ready to complete. The job page then says Ready to complete: every visit is reported done beside Complete Job. A scheduled job offers Complete Job straight away instead of Start Job, since the work has already happened.

A job isn’t ready to complete while any of its visits has no one assigned: nobody has said that part of the work is done. A subcontractor reporting the work done tells you the same way, but doesn’t count toward “everyone”: only people on the job’s crew do.

“Ready to complete” is a hint, not a gate. You can complete a job whenever you like, whether or not anyone has reported.

Completing the job

Check the helper’s notes, photos and checklist on the job page, then choose Complete Job. It works exactly as it always does — see Completing a job and sign-off. If you’ve turned on drafting an invoice on job completion, the draft starts from there.

Only someone who can edit jobs can complete one. A helper never can.

When a report is cleared

A report belongs to one person’s work in one slot. It’s cleared when you:

Changing how long the job takes or its arrival window doesn’t clear a report.

A helper can also take their own report back with Undo while the job is open, if they tapped it too early. When a report clears, nobody is notified; the helper marks the visit done again when they finish.
